Its semi-translucent body, banded with warm yellow and cream, comes alive under backlighting — a feature panel in Yellow Onyx reads like captured sunshine. About Yellow Onyx
A banded calcite formed by mineral-rich water in underground cavities, Yellow Onyx owes its warm hue to iron and other trace minerals. Like all onyx, its great gift is translucency, and its best use is as a backlit decorative panel. It is comparatively soft and porous, so it is best kept to low-traffic, interior, decorative applications, with slabs resin-reinforced and backed for strength. Specified and lit thoughtfully, it is genuinely breathtaking.
It pairs dramatically with dark marbles and brass or bronze detailing, which we can quote alongside it.
